Bea is a board certified, licensed clinical psychotherapist who completed her graduate studies and clinical training at Northwestern University. She specializes in women's mental health and primarily treats anxiety, depression, trauma, disordered body image and eating, and reproductive mental health with integrative and science-backed therapies. Bea supports clients throughout life transitions, self-esteem issues, anxiety and overthinking patterns, motherhood, stressful circumstances, trauma healing and processing, interpersonal and attachment issues, and relationship difficulties. Prior to founding Women's Mental Health Group, Bea provided psychotherapy in a variety of mental health care settings including outpatient practices, behavioral clinics, intensive outpatient centers, and hospitalization programs.
Bea's therapeutic approach is warm, compassionate, collaborative, trauma-informed, strengths-based, and results-driven. She addresses both the current symptoms and root causes of presenting challenges and patterns to holistically improve the emotional wellbeing of her clients. She emphasizes the mind-body connection and incorporates mindfulness and somatic techniques into her work with clients.
In addition to her other specialties, Bea is EMDR-trained and utilizes this evidence-based modality regularly to help her clients identify, heal, and improve root level emotional patterns and traumas. She also has a clinical expertise in reproductive and maternal mental health. As a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Clinician (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International, she is extensively trained to provide supportive psychotherapy to clients throughout their pre-conception, prenatal, postpartum, early parenthood, and family building stages of life. The motherhood and parenthood journey is complex and Bea is passionate about utilizing and integrating research-backed therapies to holistically and effectively help clients who are experiencing perinatal mood & anxiety disorders (PMADs) or other emotional difficulties related to infertility, assisted reproductive technology usage, third party reproduction usage, pregnancy loss, pregnancy experiences, perinatal or birth trauma, postpartum challenges, infant attachment issues, and early motherhood identity shifts (matrescence).
Bea welcomes any clients from the LGBTQIA+ community who are navigating reproductive journeys. She also provides emotionally-focused therapy to couples during their family-building and parenting stages of life.
While Bea primarily provides clinical therapy, she is available for and offers select speaking engagements, interviews, consulting, customized workshops, and contributing writing requests related to her areas of clinical expertise including:
